"The American Society of Civil Engineers is committed to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public, and as such, is equally committed to improving the nation’s public infrastructure. To achieve that goal, the Report Card depicts the condition and performance of the nation’s infrastructure in the familiar form of a school report card—assigning letter grades that are based on physical condition and needed fiscal investments for improvement." Taking this further, each individual state has been called to research and prepare their own respective local report cards. The Iowa Section of ASCE released a the first state-wide report card on February 24, 2015. In November of 2018, the Iowa Section of ASCE began working on a 2019 update to Iowa's Report Card. The 2019 report card will be released on May 2, 2019!

The goal of the Iowa report cards is to bring tangible awareness to our current state of infrastructure and develop a plan of action for improvement. Click on the link below for the ASCE National Report Card.
